Who are we?
Asphodel is a social enterprise which seeks to change the fast fashion industry through a focus on recycling and limiting waste. All of the clothing is made from recycled textiles and is waste free!
So why do we do this?
With the rise of “fast fashion” consumers expect a greater variety of product at lower prices so as to have a high turnover of garments. Approximately 80 billion new items of clothing are produced every year, with the US alone disposing of 11 million tons of textile waste per annum. The majority of this textile waste is non-biodegradable and is simply placed in landfills which are taking up an ever greater amount of space. We hope that through recycling we can encourage you to think twice about clothing purchases and the throwaway culture we have around fashion.
